Funding boost for Weston town centre regeneration

Submitted on 15 January 2016

North Somerset Council has been awarded £700,000 by the Government to boost development in the centre of Weston-super-Mare.

The funding will move forward a number of key projects within the council's ambitious programme to regenerate the town centre.

The grant will be used to commission the architectural design and the planning application for Walliscote Place (on the site of the police station and former magistrates court), a masterplan for the area around the railway station and public realm/highways design for Station Road and Walliscote Place, which will unlock new residential development in the town centre.
